Description:
The Guild Bank mod (the new one) seems to be blocking the ability to interact with the guild bank.

Some guildmates of mine had reported this problem, but I thought maybe they had an old version of the mod. I made sure to update the new mod yesterday--with it installed/running, I was unable to open the guild bank--get the gold money bag icon, but nothing happens when I click.

Logged out, turned off the mod--logged back in and was immediately able to interact with the guild bank.

They are all using the DKP Profiler correct? The mod is no longer Guild Bank and all files related to it need to be removed from the system including saved variables as Chops had indicated that some of the naming he had was conflicting and that is why he rewrote that mode is DKPProfiler.

Saud is correct. The old Guild Bank mod, including the Guild Bank Uploader, must be removed, because they do conflict. This includes removing the GuildBank folder from WoW\Interface\Addons.

Remove all that, and the DKP Profiler mod will not conflict with the Bank.

Just now deleted the folders and saved variables from my WTF folder--still having the problem.

Try this,

Go to your Character Select Screen and click the "Addons" button. Is the "GuildBank" mod present? If so, uncheck the box, and continue.

Alrighty. I've deployed a new version of the DKPProfiler, which is set up to delete the offending old GuildBank mod.

I'm wondering if you're running Vista, and that the mod probably installed itself into the VirtualStore, which is a total pain.

Here's the link to the new version:

OMG what do I have to look forward to? My sister had a problem with the first WOW patch (2.3) after buying a new Vista power Machine. She formated last night and set it up clean. Of course after being a PC Support Tech at a Major Company (had me seeing cow spots) I learned that the Network Image loading systems PC Manufactures use are horrible and I always formated my systems and reset them up new. I guess I'll have to do some reading into all the backup and software settings before I get my new Vista machines next spring.

Shush you. Vista is teh awesomz.
The problems with Vista and WoW are solved 100% when WoW is installed to a location OTHER than Program Files. The problem is that Vista protects the program files folder.

Ah. I just found that my sister hasn't installed WOW yet. I'll pass this along. Once a PC tech always a PC tech.

I was unclear--I uninstalled, deleted the folders, re-installed the new version--and the problem re-occurred. If I go unclick Guild Bank mod--the problem doesn't exist.

I have not installed the latest version--I'll try that tonight.

I'm not running Vista--also am having the same problems on the laptop. I'll try this latest version tonight, see if the problems go away.
Obviously I don't know the exact problem because I'm not sitting at your computer but this is what I'm trying to explain.

When Chops first built the profiling mod it was called GuildBank. When Blizzard introduced Guild Banks they had some naming issues or something where it caused conflicts with DKP Systems profiling mod.

Chops solution was to rewrite the mod and change every reference from GuildBank to DKPProfiler. Including the name of the mod.

Find everything in your WTF Saved Variables and delete it. Delete the MOD name GuildBank.

Download DKPProfiler from DKPSystem and install it.

Yep. The conflict was the result of the Blizzard UI being actually named "GuildBank." So loading my "GuildBank" mod overwrote the WoW guild vault code.

Hence renaming it "DKPProfiler"

Hey chops when you deploy new addons or mods for us could you make two separate versions, one could do the auto install like the DKP profiler is set up to do, and make one where we select where we want it to unzip to... otherwise like you said it will auto go to the virtual store location

So maybe makean WinXP Version / Win Vista Version. Unless you can code it to bypass the Virtual Store push

Also i noticed one thing with the new DKPUploder to the website. it says to get the file from this location:

WTF/Account/<AccountName>/<RealmName>/<CharacterName>/SavedVariables/DKPProfiler.lua

Does this mean we have to upload from each bank character

I dont use the WoW Vault excep for people to deposit in... due to the fact that there are no controls over who get what, only controls over what rank get how much per day. There have been issues already of people inviting a lvl 60 to guild goes to the guild bank yanks out an epic... and leaves the guild, mails the item to his 70 level toon... the WoW version of the bank was built with the intention that everyone that plays WoW has a high level of integrity... uuuhh, but we know that is not the case... so i put this in as a suggestion to WoW...

***********************************************************

Ok, the great thing about my guild bank on my website (Non-WoW bank) is that ppl can look at the contents and request an item. Those players with permissions can review those requests and approve/disapprove. Works great, the problem with the WoW bank is this, NINJA As in anyone with permissions to the bank can grab an epic quit the guild or sell it in the AH make money from it, mean while the warrior that needed the item is out that item. Dont give people a certain withdrawl amount, while that was a good idea you are assuming that everyone that is playing this game is honest and has a high level of integrity. I think the way people should get things from the bank, needs revisions.

Here is my idea

The GM gives certain officers or just him/her self permission to approve guild bank requests.

Said player goes to the bank, sees an item he would like, he simply right clicks on the item and it will give him options

*Request Item
*Cancel

After said player clicks on request item, a little pop up box appears to enter the reason as to why he needs the item, he could put in there that it is an upgrade to his current gear whatever the reason. Once approved it could be sent to his mail box just like a winning auction bid / buyout

Now once he clicks request, it removes itself from that tab, and moves itself to another tab, right now we have Tab 1 ; Log ; Money Log ; (could add another tab called Awaiting Approval) and this is where the requested items go, right now there really is not any controls to the bank, with the exception that said rank can pull whatever he wants out of the bank, wheather it be 1 item or 10 items, A level 2 player could grab the epic item that is in there that is mean for a level 70 mage...

Aha. Makes sense. But I was having the problem after I deleted those WTF Saved Variable files--honest!

Last night was too busy--forgot to test the new profiler version.

It was, to a degree. Unless I completely trusted my guildies, I would never put epics in there. In my small guild, I know no one is going to be a dick like that, so I've got no worries. But even so, the only things we really place in there are things like potions, cloth, herbs, generally the stuff where someone's like "Hey, anyone got 6 primal waters?". Little things.

For a large raiding guild holding onto items, like the old Fiery Cores, Lava Cores, and Void Crystals, I would only allow Officers access to that tab, or if I REALLY didn't trust my officers either, then I'd keep them on a character.

I think you're right though, Blizzard has opened a can of worms in implementing an in-game Guild Bank. It's going to get uglier before it gets better, and you'll be hearing a lot of crying from people who take the full withdrawal amount from their guild bank every day.

Oh, as for the thing, I thought there was a setting to allow users to VIEW contents, but not TAKE them. Am I wrong on this?

Yeah, you're correct - the permissions basically boil down to:

limit a guild rank to withdrawing XXX gold per day
limit a guild rank to: viewing a tab, depositing items in a tab, and withdrawing XXX items in a tab (all of these are on a per-tab basis)

I haven't seen one yet from the admin or user side really. I thought I read that there were things like permisions by Rank in the guild as to what you could take out and what Tabs you could see. Like there might be 5 tabs but nubs only get access to the first tab.
