You Version up...Give it a shot.

It's all in the reflexes.
Might want to filter out core items from MC also.

Jack Burton: Hey, what more can a guy ask for?
Egg Shen: Oh, a six-demon bag!
Jack Burton: Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What's in it, Egg?
Egg Shen: Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!
Good call on that.

Great! where? everyplace I look (I've downloaded it now from my admin page, this thread, the instructions) it comes back that there is a newer version... but I can't find where it's posted!!!

We're doing bwl in an hour and I'm frantic.

Clear your cache and cookies, and download from the beginning link in this thread.

Chops just rehosts the new versions in the same place the old versions were oft times.

Yeah... did that and still get the same message when I put in the website name.

"you're using .62 and there is a new version .63"

Yeah I get that now too however the version your downloading works. This is something hopefully Chops sees and fixes.

Another option needed. /grss off
globally diable GRSS. I entered BRD and had to log and turn GRSS off because it was asking me to assign points to all the blue drops.

Umm... this mod doesnt seem to be modifying the lua file i downloaded. I did a /console reloadui to write out the grss file, and i lost all bid histories and minus dkps for loot assignments.

The file that you download doesn't actually get modified, it only gets loaded.

I guess I didn't provide enough information...my apologies on that.

When you download the luadkp.php file, make sure you rename it to "GRSS_Data.lua" and put it in the GuildRaidSnapShot folder with the rest of the program files.

The only file that gets updated is the data file in the WTF/Accounts/AccountName/SavedVariables directory.

By the way, why are you downloading this manually? Are you running Mac?

If you are, you could try running the perl script in the directory called GetGRSSDKP.pl.

Sorry about that...I totally missed that doing the emergency versions yesterday. It's fixed.

Yeah, my apologies on that. The version info was wrong, but the file was correct

Yeah, I know about renaming the file. I have the dkp loaded, its just that when ppl win bids, the dkp is subtracted from thier total... and when you /console reloadui, it doesnt get subtracted anymore. (all previous subtractions are lost)

I'm not running the exe, because despite the greatness of this site, i'm not gonna run an EXE i download from the website, just not gonna.

I could run the perl script... but i dont want to d/l activestate or get cygwin at the moment.

it's plenty easy to download the file, i have it bookmarked, its a 2 click process...

Unfortuantely, yeah. That's gonna happen when you do a reloadui. The bids and spent points are written to the file, but aren't reapplied to the current standings.

As for the exe, fair enough, I can understand the hesitation. If you know how to read perl, you can read the GetGRSSDKP.pl file, which is the source to the exe, if you don't particularly trust it. The unusual size of the exe is because the compiler needs to build the applicable parts of perl into the program itself. I suppose I could have written it as a vbs as well, but if you're cool with doing it this way, that works.

Bidding versus Rolling. Since we do not use a bidding system the rolling system works better for us. A couple of things I'd like to see changed.

When a !bid x is done and is recorded it moves that person to the top of the DKP table in the mod.
When a /random 1000 is recorded however it keeps them in the order they are currently sorted. Granted the first person you find should be the one with the highest total but I think it would still be nice to see them appear automatically at the top of the list in order from highest to lowest or maybe in a separate window like the !bid history.

Also some in our guild asked why /rnd 1000 and not something simpler like /rnd 1. I also think this would be better as it is shorted to type...albeit not by more than a few characters but.

So a few people in my guild that also run raids are talking about errors and wow crashes. I think that part of the problem here is that this is such a major rewrite of the mod that you might want to advise people that if they have a version prior to the introduction of the GUI that they may want to delete the entire folder and then download the new version. On top of the clearing of cache and such to ensure your really getting the one.

Pretty sure that it's 1000 because it's designed for actually rolling to win the item rather than the way we use it to roll for interest only.

With 1000, you do not get as many ties as you would with 100. Effectively a 1 in 1000 chance of tying versus a 1 in 100 chance. I'm sure the actual odds are something different but the point remains the same.

The functionality to be able to change the random number rolled would be nice, but I think we could probably just get our people easily conditioned to rolling 1000 as easily as we got them to rolling 1.

I went into the GuildRaidShapShot.lua file in the GuildRaidSnapShot folder in the addons folder and modified the line

for name, roll in string.gfind(arg1, "(%a+) rolls (%d+) %(1%-1000%)") do

and changed it to

for name, roll in string.gfind(arg1, "(%a+) rolls (%d+) %(1%-1%)") do

Then went a changed the lines...

SendChatMessage("Rolling Started on "..itemname..". If you are interested /random 1000. Rolls with anything but 1000 will be ignored.", "RAID");
SendChatMessage("Rolling Started on "..itemname..". If you are interested /random 1000.", "RAID_WARNING");

to

SendChatMessage("Rolling Started on "..itemname..". If you are interested /random 1. Rolls with anything but 1 will be ignored.", "RAID");
SendChatMessage("Rolling Started on "..itemname..". If you are interested /random 1.", "RAID_WARNING");

This seems to help me a bit. I have not had to chance to test if it places the highest dkp at the top or not, but it does allow you to use /rnd 1 instead.

Hope this helps.
