On a little google search, I came across a recent MaxDPS post mentioning the armory changes, and some exciting things to make importing much less painless. This change will also allow me (hopefully) to easily bring back DKPSigs, which has been down for a few months now because of how much a pain it has been to to keep armory compatibility after wowarmory.com was retired. It's funny, even after wowarmory.com was retired, the data behind the scenes was still being served, allowing import services like DKPSigs and our Armory import mechanisms to still work even when normal users were not being shown the data. Eventually, they stopped serving the data too, and that's when the armory import processes started to break.

Blizzard will be releasing an official way for community sites like MaxDPS to get character information. They posted a preview a few weeks back and I expect it will be posted very soon. I will be adding back the Armory Import feature when this has launched, please stay tuned!
