So in regular form usage, this isn't really possible, but since these forums use a single tray with filters basically, is there any possibility of getting... basically an anti-sticky? To pin something to the complete back end of the forums instead?

There's some things that I want to pin in place, but not at the front of the forum, usually just administrative notes on random crap that needs to be tracked, but not in everyone's face.

Typically, when I want to keep notes for myself, I just make myself a private thread (And just not select anyone else), and then mark it as a favorite.

Is what you're asking for something that goes further than this?

Probably further than that. We already have Archive Tags in each main forum category. There isn't really and Archive Function per say on the forums.

Jack Burton: Hey, what more can a guy ask for?
Egg Shen: Oh, a six-demon bag!
Jack Burton: Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What's in it, Egg?
Egg Shen: Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!

Where as a Sticky pins something to the top of the forum, I want something that I can pin to the bottom of the forum that regardless of replies won't get bumped up.

Something that I can carry on a discussion in without having it bumping up to the top and pushing other things out of the way, and something that I can reference back to easily, by clicking last on the forums without having to dig through pages and find it again.

Really, what I think it boils down to is that in this single tray forum, there's a crapload of jumbling around of things when the forums get active. The ability to pin something to one specific spot, via sticky helps when you have important things that you need to reference quickly. What I'm looking for is something that needs to be easily referenced and reached, but doesn't take up that prime front page real-estate. So that you always know what page it's going to be on and can just be like, 'uh look at the back end' and it'll be there, rather than telling people 'I think it's on page 3? maybe 2, I can bump it, hold on'.

Put it in a tag and uncheck the checkbox filter for it, when you dont want to see it.

Problem is, if you have like 900 pages of forums... why go to the last page every time you want to look at this thread.

Just check or uncheck the filter so you only see it when you want to.

Here's an idea I've been bouncing around. A "Local Sticky" so to speak. Allow a user to define a thread they want to be Sticky just for them. While it wouldn't accomplish exactly what it is you're asking for, it's kinda a neat aside I think.

As for your idea with the "Slickies" I'm going to think about the design nature of it and see if I can't come up with something a little more intuitive. I'll admit that having a "Slicky" post at the bottom of everything might be convenient for finding it, I don't know if it's the most straightforward approach.

If I can't think of anything else for it (and naturally, I'll run it by you first), I'll just do the slicky thing...wierd as it is.

Another idea (which I thought was actually going to be your suggestion when I first read this thread) was for an "Uber Sticky" which would make the thread a sticky at the top of every view, regardless of which thread tags are showing. That'll be a little harder to accomplish, but it's certainly doable.
