If someone archives an application, if other people have not viewed it yet, they still get the 'unread application' notification in the red box. Clicking the link takes you to the active applications and there's nothing there.

The notification doesn't go away unless they goto the Application forum and click the threads there. The site should dismiss the notifications if an application is archived, perhaps?

That's a very good idea. They would otherwise have to choose "Show Archived" from the drop down list.

I'm sorry, it wasn't exactly "Show Archived", it's just "Archived" and "Not Archived"

Give it a shot now. Should be working properly. It looks like there were some javascript tweaks from Firefox 3 to Firefox 3.5.
