I have removed all the ranks that have changed but now I can't create new ranks.

It won't let me update my roster. The website tells me characters to create but it doesn't create them.

As for the characters to create, could you upload the GuildRaidSnapShot file that you're using to upload your roster?

yes it uploads but doesn't take.

I see the problem. You don't have any "Guild Rosters" on your site, which is a necessity. Head to Admin > Characters and Accounts > Rosters, and create a new Roster, and make sure to select it as a "Guild Roster," giving it the correct name and server.

Then give the upload a shot.
