Hi Chops,
Our guild loves our site. You have done a wonderful job. I do not usually post. Before I make suggestions I wanted to take time to get really familiar with the site and by the time I get around to thinking about a change, you usually have implemented it already. There are 2 things that would help a great deal now.
First, we used to be able to pull current standing information for a specified time frame. The new way of selecting members is great, but we mourn the loss of the time frame. Membership in one of the most important and privileged ranks in our guild is based on participation and for officers to have the ability to view recent participation is very important.
The second suggestion is based solely on our dkp system, our cap, and how we break ties. I would not have you add it, if we were the only ones to use it. But, it is a pretty cool way to do things. Let me explain. No one like to have to random for an epic item. Our cap is 35 and we often have many of the most active raiders sitting at the cap. We break ties based on rank and available dkp, but often those are equal and we needed to go to random and this was not good. Additionally, some of the active raiders were not happy about sitting at 35 dkp for weeks and getting nothing for raiding. The solution was to create an overage field in the adjustments. Now, after each raid, I add (well subtract really) however many points above 35 each person earned to their overage. This brings them down to 35 and keeps a total of the points they have earned above the 35, so they never lose anything. When there is a tie, the person with the most overage has the option to spend the overage on the item. So, they are rewarded for all of their raiding even after they hit the cap. If they choose to spend the overage, I zero out the field and add the overage amount to their bid on the item. This has been working great. A technical note, keeping the overage field as an adjustment really messes up the pretty dkp history chart.
Anyway, moving to dkpsystem has been the best move the guild has made, If you choose to implement some of these suggestions and want to discuss them in more detail contact me anytime.
Thanks again.
