i was wondering how much you can do with the tooltips he have now. i was thinking about having a main menu kinda like the pias one across the top but the items would be the categories like: menu, resources, dkp, guides. and on mouseover they would drop down a list of clickable links, so mousing over menu would popup a dropdown list of admin,news,roster,forums,gallery, ....and so on. its sounds hefty to me but maybe if the tool tips are configurable we could rig those up to be stationary and hold clickable links. or is there some easy js out there that does this better?

With javascript, you can effectively do just that with the current setup. Not to use the "tooltips" per se, but to use hidden divs that show up when you hover over a menu.
