So after a week or more of the new Primary/Secondary Thread Tag UI, I have to admit it is a love/hate relationship.
Since the Primary Thread Tag is a dropdown box and the secondary is a set of checkboxes, people are basically ignoring the dropdown box (which leaves the default choice selected) and checking one (very rarely two) things in the secondary list.
So, what I end up with is every single thread in my General tag, and also maybe, if I'm lucky, in another thread tag that is appropriate.
My recommendation would be this:
1. Make the Primary Tag be a radio button list that looks a lot like the current Secondary Tag list. People like the colors and are more likely to pick something useful if they see that.
2. Make the Secondary Tag be something you can open up if you want it. Ultimately, secondary tags are the exception and not the rule. A post about "How a Hunter can kill a Warlock in a duel" might be primary tagged "PvP" and secondary "Hunter" and "Warlock", but I think it is quite unlikely that people will bother.
As it stands now, I'm having to spend way too much time reassigning tags that are in General to the right place. Gotta be something you can do about that.
