I know it's a little late, but I figured I'd ask about Black Friday

Did anyone go shopping, or even crazier, go wait in front a store in the early morning on Black Friday to get any sweet deals?

Black Friday is one of the only holidays I REALLY am excited to celebrate, and I do so every year with friends where we wait outside Best Buy to get whatever sweet deals they happen to have.

This year the big win for me was a 22" LCD monitor for $200. That was a deal I just couldn't pass up, and boy, is coding nice on that monster.

My fiancee scored herself a new Digital Elph for like $200 also.

Anyone else crazy like that?

It's honestly the one day of the year I try my best to avoid going to any store.

Six Demon BagRefresh This Item
Jack Burton: Hey, what more can a guy ask for?
Egg Shen: Oh, a six-demon bag!
Jack Burton: Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What's in it, Egg?
Egg Shen: Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!

I put plywood up over my windows, use ducttape to block out all the light, and yell to people that I'm gonna shoot them if they come too close.

I love black friday. I rarely go out unless i see a sweet deal, but that doesnt mean that i dont enjoy when my wife takes off for half the day and i get a day to lounge around in sweats and watch football.
This year i picked up a 42" plasma tv for 1000. So i am feeling pretty good about it. It looks awesome hanging on my wall. Scored huge points by installing the wall mount and the little cable channel cover. She painted the cable cover and it blends in very nicely with the wall.
I dont normaly get up early do the crowds etc, but stores were really competive this year and selling stuff litterarly at a loss (stuff for sale instore with return gaurntees for signifcantly less then any online shop.) I picked up a new all in one printer for 80 bucks, that sold for over 200 not 4 weeks ago. Also bought a ton of 1,2,3 dollar dvds. So it was worth getting up early and handling the crowds.

Another intresting promotion is, Compusa doing a big sale at midnight when windows vista is coming out. Selling stuff at like half off or more if you buy vista with it and do rebates. So if theirs actually a few items you want in the sale, you can save ton of money and essentialy get windows vista for free from the money you saved and then some. (Beats paying for M$ products) Then send all the 100+ dollar off to M$ to get MS to pay you for buying their product.

I'll have to check that out and buy some cheap stuff, and then not buy vista. It'll be pretty sweet.

Then again, I probably should buy vista for testing purposes.
