it would be very nice if there was a feature where you could remotely notify the website that you are late for a raid (e.g. stuck in traffic, working late, car broke, dead)

Would it be possible to get an IM/SMS/Email feature where you could notify the web site via a cell phone's features.

So if my car breaks down I can pull out my phone send an IM/SMS/Email to my website's messaging service which would then generate an alert in the lower right to the "officers" or whatever rank you set up that there is new SMS messages or whatever they are called.

Yea. I used to use the mailin feature of vbulletin for this before migrating to dkpsystem. It didn't get a lot of use mostly because it wasn't up for long before we migrated.

That was pretty basic though. It just put a post into a forum and tagged it with the user account by identifying the email address.

I'm sure Chops could create something cooler than that.

...interesting. I've been toying with the idea of SMS integration lately, but I was only thinking about outgoing notifications. Incoming sounds rather interesting, and I'll have to see what can be done about that.
