We are looking to build a few rather large/lengthy guides.

What I really need to know, is there a way to jump within a guide with a link. I want to make a table of contents at the beginning and be able to link to different sections within the same guide without linking to different pages.

Guides are not html enabled last I knew. You might want to consider doing this as custom html pages.
