is it possible to disable the required veiwing function? Yeah, just don't require it for anyone. That function will only show for you and for the super-admins. -- It's all in the reflexes.

edit: and also maybe a minimum rank which is required to view this. ie casuals not having to view raiding guides. and a rank which can see who views as an option? The rank system is associated with this is currently the minimum rank that can view it. I could look into adding an arbitrary required rank for each page. -- It's all in the reflexes.

April 26 * Added arbitrary security controls for website accounts. You can use this to assign specific "Feature Access" controls to specific accounts. The most common request for this is for allowing layout controls to a specific user without having to promote that user to the minimum rank, or to change the minimum rank of the layout security control. (like for a non-officer web designer in your guild who wants to redesign your site). This function is available only for super-admin or for anyone with "Full Admin Privs"
Note: This is the beginning of a rather long process of making most security functions of the site more granular. Rather than dealing with ranges (minimum rank), more control can be given to users by changing things to be more "pick and choose" with regard to functionality and rank.

Hi There,
The access to the chat function no longer works no matter the rank feature access levels set.
I am GM am the only one that can see the chat feature on the menu system
We use this quite a bit so a quick fix would be appreciated

I really really like the Required Reading option! Maybe I never noticed before but now it seems that the 'standard' users can see the version history on all of the guides that they can read. Is that intended?

the 'standard' users can see the version history on all of the guides that they can read. Is that intended? Yup, this is pretty much always been like that. The normal users can see the version history (much like anyone can see the version history of Wikipedia pages). They are unable to roll the versions back though. -- It's all in the reflexes.

April 25 * Added required viewing. You can mark guides or custom menu contents as required viewing. For all users that have access to this particular page, an alert will be generated if they haven't viewed it. Clicking the link in the alert or visiting the target page will remove the alert.
Is there any way we could get a version of this that applies to forum threads, and maybe a way for certain ranks to see who has and has not viewed it? Thanks -- WolfifyResto Druid <Infamous With Style>Darkspear -- Alliance

Thanks This is indeed something that's planned, though at the moment it's a lot more complicated to fit it in unlike the guides and menu items. -- It's all in the reflexes.

I could look into adding an arbitrary required rank for each page. Just to clearify Chops: The members who gets requested to see a guide is linked to who we've set CAN see it when creating it? The option to have a second ranking would also be very appriciated here. We use guides for a whole lot, but many of them are only "required" reading for raiders - where as socials don't have to read them.

I was just letting you know how it currently determines that. I do plan on adding some ranking requirements for it. -- It's all in the reflexes.

April 28 * Added an importer for the EPGP Mod. Keep in mind that it only imports the standings, as the EPGP mod does not track an item history.

April 29 * Added a Loot System Cloner. A common request is for users to play with some of the DKP settings (usually Decay) and they'd like a sort of sandbox to play in, so they'd put in a support request to clone a DKP System. This handles that - it copies all attendance, raids, items and adjustments to the new system, named "Original-copy" where "Original" is the name of the system being cloned.

April 30 * Added a per-account DKP option (actually, it's by main character). Because of the far-reaching implications of this particular feature, there are bound to be a few places where it's still displaying information on a per-character basis, so it's being released, but enabling it will prompt you with the "This is beta and might have some bugs". The key to this is making sure that you have characters associated with accounts. If a character is not associated with an account, it doesn't matter if it's a main or an alt, it's going to display on it's own. The website account is the unifier for this. * Updated the GRSS (version 2.010) to support the per-account DKP and also to do automatic version checking in-game. When you download the latest data, included in the data is the current version. In-game, when you open the GRSS window for the first time, it'll compare versions and if the versions are different, it'll display a quick non-intrusive message informing you that a new version is available.
This is quite possibly the single oldest request that's been addressed this month. The reason this has never been done previously is two-fold: 1) The scope of it, there are a lot of loose-ends that it needs to tie together, and 2) because there has always been a pretty reasonable workaround: assigning all loot to a single character.
But now you can choose to make DKP only show the main character when you edit the Loot System. This will take all loot, attendance, and adjustments associated with any alts of a character and aggregate it all into a single record for the display.
Furthermore, the GRSS has been updated to support this. It'll show the main character as long as there is a loot association request, the alt's information will update the main character's record in-game.

Some followup thoughts on the whole thing. It's been pretty grueling, and some days I didn't feel like I had it in me to complete the daily features. I'd work all day on a feature only to get to around 9 or 10pm and realize that it wasn't going to be done in time, so I'd switch gears and try to whip out something quick, or finish a previously unfinished project. There were a few scary moments, particularly on days when the servers were struggling (like WoW's 3.1 patch day). Almost all day was spent on optimization of the code and database, trying to identify bottlenecks (patch days are the best for that, since there's so much traffic). Once all the fires were put out, I was finally able to get to work on the daily feature. There were lots and lots of really late nights: typically I went to sleep between 4am and 6am. And I drank more energy drinks this month than I have ever drank in my entire life. And the worst part was how the whiteboard would dwindle ever so slowly. Remember how it looked? It barely looks like it's changed. I'd erase an item, and replace it with a new one. What does this mean for you? It means there are still a lot of features and upgrades in the pipeline. In addition to these features, May is projected to be "Documentation Month" where I'm going to go through all documentation that I feel is lackluster (which is much of it) and improve it. Update screenshots, update text, update everything, and even get some video demonstrations up. In the end, I'm extremely proud of the results and I very much appreciate everyone's constant feedback, bug reports, feature suggestions, and your overall support. Seriously folks, this couldn't be done without you. You folks have so many great ideas that it's extremely difficult prioritizing them. So don't feel like this is the end of feature updates for a while. Far from it. While I'm likely taking a day or two off this month from developing new features, I'll be back to the grindstone launching new stuff. I've got a handful of ideas that aren't on the whiteboard and I'm not telling you about until they're (almost) ready. Finally, for those of you curious, here is the whiteboard as of a few minutes ago: -- It's all in the reflexes.
