• Is there a way to tell it to automatically shuffle all files to play them randomly? I can make a custom link to the player via the menu, but would need to know what to tack onto the javascript link to do it.

Yeah, a shuffle option is desperately needed.

The unregistered thing, unfortunately, might need to stay, at least for a while longer (I've got some plans on that).
