I would like to get some of your opinions on how you handle guild members that doesn’t bother using the guild website that you have paid for and work so hard to keep them informed with guild activities. If I had to kick the members out that isn’t using mine; it would be half of my guild. I always tell them it only takes a few minutes to check it before you log into WOW. So here are my questions for you: Do you have the same problems and if so what do you do to fix it? If not, what makes your members want to keep up with the latest guild news on your site? -- Painkillerle

So here are my questions for you: Do you have the same problems and if so what do you do to fix it? If not, what makes your members want to keep up with the latest guild news on your site? There are a couple of things that we do. First of all, they have to know their dkp before they raid because we have a system where they have to indicate their interest by typing roll (dkp#) in raid chat. If they have the highest dkp # then the next highest has to be within 10% in order to roll against them or they automatically win the item. I can pretty much guarantee they go and look at the site if only for their dkp number. --

if someone stops checking the site... I may put that character in retired mode so thier dkp doesn't show. If it can't be looked up durring a raid then it makes it hard for them to win any items over someone else. They still gain dkp, but they can't varify it. When they do notice, they come to me letting me know they "have no dkp".
Little different but it works for me.
Also we do bonus dkp for those who sign up for the raids on the Calender. Those who signed up and are approved or on waiting list get invites first. Those who don't bother don't get any invites. When they wonder why they haven't been getting invites they are informed they haven't signed up for the raid and they need to be checking on that. If you have trouble filling raids, then you need to start recruiting more members.

If not, what makes your members want to keep up with the latest guild news on your site? If people do not sign up to Raid they don't get into the Raid, that makes them look. We change everyone's Rank every 2 weeks based on Raid attendance. The top Raiders rank get priority raid invites and bidding priority on gear. The lowest rank being unable to bid on any gear and get raid invites last(we still mark them as attending the raid when bosses are killed if they are online, so they still get attendance even if they are unable to get into the raid, just no DKP). If they do not request their rank get changed on the site. They do not get it updated in game. So it hurts them. The Raider Rank also requires that their profile is kept upto date, professions, talents e.t.c Since implimenting this our website gets used much more often. Hope it helps.

It's interesting to see how everyone manages this problem.
Here's how I manage mine:
Secto: The website sucks and I refuse to use it! BMcGee: You understand that using the website is mandatory for guild membership? Secto: Yes, but I hate it! BMcGee: And you refuse to use it? Secto: That's right! BMcGee: /gkick Secto
Do that once or twice, and it keeps people motivated to use the website! BTW, that's not made up, that's an actual conversation!

Brian LOL, Thats how I feel! If it was free to have this cool tool that Chops has come up with, then I wouldn't give a shit. But when I'm the one forking out the cash and you want to be im my guild then you need to use the site. Or you can pitch in some cash and I'll keep my mouth shut. LOL Anyways thanks for the input everyone. -- Painkillerle

I agree with almost every option given here. We enforce use to a degree but we follow the "if your not signed up you don't raid" principal mostly. We don't completely bar them today as we are small enough as guild that every body makes that much of a difference to whether we complete and instance or not. They do get lower priority over those that signup even if they say they are gonna be late. -- Six Demon BagJack Burton: Hey, what more can a guy ask for? Egg Shen: Oh, a six-demon bag! Jack Burton: Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What's in it, Egg? Egg Shen: Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!

you trace their ip address, find out where they live, and cut their nuts off. or if you don't like cutting off nuts you take the email address they signed up with and sign up for multi animal porn website using it.

With my guild we post all events on the website. When someone asks, 'hey what do we have planned for next week?' - We just answer: 'go check out the site. it's all on there.'
-- It's a common misconception that Rogues "do it" from the front or even, on rare occasion, laterally. While there was a brief period in the sixties where such things might have been in vogue, these days it's understood that the best position for rogues worldwide is directly behind. Indeed, many roguish feats demand it.

Well, i am no where near the end game instances yet, only 2 50's and some 40's in my guild so i am constantly promoting the guild web site, when they join the guild they are in the Rank of Initiate, they have 2 weeks to make the rank of Nu Recruit, how do they do this you ask, well they create an account on the web site, they load the guildbankMod, and upload thier data, if not Booted, cause i figure if they cant handle this simple task then they sureley wont be very cooperative in the end game instances. Also, i promote the site all the time, we will (the ones with alot of gold) will run a promo of putting something special in the guild bank, it gets them to the site, plus i hate it when i am asked the same questions over and over and over, so i direct them to the web site to read the FAQ's, mostly everything on my web site is locked out to initiate with the exception of the Guide <Setting Up Your Character The Easy Way>, once they become a Nu Recruit then they can see most of the stuff, new stuff opens up each rank they get... dont want to overload a n00b with dkp stats and rules, so he just get to view setup, Code of Conduct, FAQ's and a few other things. anyway, got off subject, but that is about it for me... cya --

Brian What is working for us is the required sign-up thing. More and more people are also coming bacause we put valuable content on it. I agree though with other peoples point of view though that say, why should I have to goto a website to raid. So I make suggestions to Chops on how to integrate sign-up into a Wow add-on. As far as /gkicking people, if you guild is large enough and can recruit a lot, that is probably affected. It is those guilds that are on the edge that might not find this helpful. Believe it or not, there are some things about the site that aren't intuitive, so some resist things like the webstie because they are afraid of technology or change. Summary. 1 Require Sign-ups to raid. 2.Keep interesting content on the front page. 3. Use it to organize your Raiding, and people will gravitate towards it. --
