If one schedules an event for a game with no classes or roles like Left 4 Dead, event creation defaults to signup by role, and calendar signups show as confirmed absentees.

Good find on that. Thanks for the heads up. In that case, a role should be specified for that game, even if the role is something obvious. At least until I put together a fix.
