I've been talking to ppl about using dkpsystem.com for their site and one person mentioned they didn't want to because they liked their dkp system using eqdkp which had a mod thats basically a dkp bot in game. a person with the mod could ping the dkp database or site and get thier current dkp or like the top mage or the top 10 mages dkp. stuff like that. so i was wondering how hard it would be to make a mod that would get a cache of the dkp off the site on startup and let them read that file with slash commands or a nice little gui and maybe a command to reload the cache from the site in game. also maybe a little gui for grss that let you choose a snapshop file and view/edit the attributes in game. That would be sweet as hell and probably a lot of work. but the whole package would just blow everything out of the water. what ya think?

Could you get a hold of this mod for me? I'd like to see how it works. As far as I know, the database cannot be updated on the fly. All data is done in-game or before the program loads.

heres the site for it. sounds like its 3 seperate pieces that do the work.

but i was talking just doing retrieves on a file of what the dkp stats where in the database that was created or updated on wow loading and also perhaps doing a manual update of what the standings were in the db from a slash command(probably not necessary since the standings are going to change that fast anyway), not any updates or changing any database stuff, and an admin version that let you view and modify the grss file or files in game.

i guess the point of the mod is for ppl to be able to check a whole bunch of dkp stats in game, like during a raid instead of alt tabbing to a browser. the guy that uses this does bidding on items so everyone is constantly using it to see what they should bid.

Theres also a mod called NDKP and the way it works is when an item drops you type !bid to the person in charge of loot and it auto tells them who gets it and subtracts it from database.
