Ok I have a flash intro I would like to add. But I can't seem to figure out how to make it work . I mean the flash itself works. But getting it to work properly with the site.
I have uploaded the files but now what?
I am not totally html dumb but learning. I got the flash up and running on my mock server which was really easy. Just renameing files to index and home and uploaded them. That ofcourse is not working here.

Can someone please help I love my flash intro and would really like to use it.
I can click on it in the uploaded files section but cant get the link in the right place I guess.
Help!
Thanks
Jess
For the splash to work, you'll want to upload the HTML file for the flash to Admin > Splash Screen, but make sure that your HTML file points your flash info to the appropriate pages (http://dkpfiles.com/re/files/blahblah.swf) rather than to a location on your hard drive. If you're having trouble, let me know and I'll dig around in your files and see what I can see.

To be more specific the *.swf file has to be uploaded using Administrative File Uploader on the admin menu. On that same menu you can copy the path to the file and place it in your HTML file that as Chops indicated gets uploaded at Admin > Splash Screen

Jack Burton: Hey, what more can a guy ask for?
Egg Shen: Oh, a six-demon bag!
Jack Burton: Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What's in it, Egg?
Egg Shen: Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!
I have done both of what was said. Uploaded the right files and did the link in the html file for the flash. But still no luck.
Maybe I am placeing my link wrong.
<link href="http://dkpfiles.com/re/files/ds935_d.swf" />
<link href="http://dkpfiles.com/re/files/intro35_ds935.txt" />
then I upload the html page and nothing but a black/white page.
I can click on the swf file in the admin file and it works. Just not on the splash upload.

Did you copy and paste this or is it a typo?

<link herf="http://dkpfiles.com/re/files/intro35_ds935.txt">

Also upload the file here as an attachment please.

I'd like to see it and see if I can get it to work. By all rights if it is up on the site and works from there as you said then it should just be a matter of getting the page setup right. It should work from ever system your setting it up on in your editor before uploading as long as you have connectivity to the net at the time.

Yes, please attach to this thread the HTML file that you are uploading.

ok here is the file

And yes it was a typo =)
Give this a shot!

It's all in the reflexes.
You could ALSO try this, however, the first method is preferred (if it works), as this makes it part of a frame.

Thanks Chop so much for fixing it. The actual index one still didn't like the text file correctly.

But the frames one worked!!! I am not that far advanced to of known how to do it with frams and I thank you so much for doing that for me.

Again thanks for your help with it!
