Well preparing my guild for raiding in TBC, weve came to DKP.
IVe read some of the guides on this site and some on others, what im wondering is how are your guys systems working out for raids in TBC? are you still rewarding points for old raid content?
We tend to operate a very simple DKP system where you get 1 point for attending and 1 point for been start to finish.
Items are fixed value but at a price that will make a large dent so that the items is simply oferred to the person with most points our of those who have /w the loot master.
We dont do DKP for KZ as we can run it many times and people will get what they want eventually however we will be for 25 mans.
As for old instances - all need/greed now.
Because we are a smaller tighter guild now it works well but this system is often flawed on much larger guilds (say 50+ active raiders)
We have two systems, one for the old content and one for BC.
We have basically wiped dkp to start fresh with the new content but use the old dkp system as a 'tie breaker' system. Therefore, guildies who have been with us a long time and raided consistently will get the edge on a contested item (unless they're negative in the current system)
We're also stepping up dkp costs and rewards with each step up in content. This encourages people to spend their dkp rather than hord it for the next phase. Ultimatley, you want all your player geared up for the new content in order to be successful and rather than force gear on someone we simply made their 'credit' devalue in the next higher instance.
